Math vol. 2

All too often we as humans opt for none, even when we know that just a little is better than none. Not going to name them all of course but think about it. Six minutes of stretching per day, 10 raisins in our bodies, listening to one song we enjoy amidst what might be a strenuous day or period, 1 bike ride to work during a month, etc etc. This is more of the real crisis. Our relationship with time and what we "can" accomplish rather than what we "can't" has become dynamically skewed.

Many of us struggle with the conceptualization of taking just a bite if we can't have the immediate meal. The wonderful thing is that it isn't our fundamental fault, but the shame and blame and constant messages about how we misuse our time only tends to bury us deeper under more strains of soil.

While basic K-1 math, the number of us who choose not to carry out this most fundamental equation in our daily lives is high. Quite honestly, it shouldn't be. More importantly, it doesn't have to be. This little thing that takes one day to teach might be the best legacy of any education system perceived to be flawed. Consider that for a minute.

Not even going to play the Kweli "Distractions" joint here.
