STOP

Stray arrows.

People might be good, but we are very rarely "bad" by nature. It just isn't that way. We are more than likely something similar to arrows more straight or astray, especially when we have a mindset that as people constantly growing and changing - we aren't quite on a fixed path. Oh but how we desperately want it to be at times. And we cling and scrape, get down and up, and try so very hard - but this is not quite the natural flow or order of life or to be more specific with anyone who might (fortunately?) be reading this - it is not the natural order to being alive.

But it's weird or scary or really really hard to talk to one another about death and how we might not forever be here or etc. etc. etc. This is called confrontation of sorts, and it's the seed of truth for most things organic, natural, and good. Or it is the wellspring for more authentic health, revitalisation, knowing our spirit more closely (yes, you have one) and I guess for lack of anything better or more complex - living.

You're living. I'm living. The plant in one's home is living. The ant scurrying down the pavement is living. The dude I saw with cig in mouth who super carelessly tossed his smoke butt on the sidewalk - he is even living. This is not something meant to be argumentative.

There was a kid with a gun yesterday at a rural school who shot two others before being killed himself. Notice I am not stating the name or place although I call it my "top 3 favorite towns in the world" nor that I was standing on the same pavement he was killed 3-4 months ago because of this - it's the same or a highly similar story.

The media will helicopter in and out and meet a few people and incite some fear amongst the larger population because we have become so so so darn good at doing that so very well. Let's find out as much as we can about who did this. MONSTER. Bad family. How could this happen? Same questions, thoughts, and another pretty sad day for some families and local residents. Guess what, the kid is the only one who is dead. Yes. And his story needs to be heard far more than the typical chatter for a week or two before we go back to our same old goddamn business. Our overall consciousness is so terribly flawed, and it is even linked to the natural world believe it or not.

So when I contact my good friend from where this occurred and his reply is quickly "people are idiots," this is the kind of consciousness I am speaking of. (This is a great dude by the way) Without a dose of compassion, we are close to doomed. Or at minimum an understanding or a shift in how we think and attend to such events and the humanity involved in their unfolding. Humanity might be the most key word from this thing. Look it up, and try a little harder.

Best.
