Put pretty simply, the present (or present "moment") is just where it's at.
If we can't quite live in the moment and more deeply embrace our human condition that honestly we could go or actually be non-existent at any real moment in time - then we can't totally live.
These things are inextricably connected, like anything else each one of us might enjoy over the course of an ordinary day. It might be a higher level of consciousness, but it is not unobtainable (in some form) for any human being who roams this Earth. Someone in disagrement would get disputed.
Primary takeaway could be that we can just do a lot better, collectively, and we will. :)
So does living in the moment mean that you're against actually making formal plans? Or that you aren't considerate of other's time? Some people don't live in the moment all of the time (I'd say most people). And just because he/she doesn't, doesn't make it wrong or right.
