That said..

Enjoy the evening! Let's get more hits on jams like this in 2016.

Also

This is highly important and quite related to some of my activities East to West the past string of months. In Vegas one night, I was rounding the corner out of Aria/City Center towards Trop and I scooped a plastic bottle (everywhere.) to give it a more reasonable home. A couple of looped girls said something like "did you really just pick that up??" Yes, girls. Yes I did.

Things I know

Maybe not a ton, but a number of things will help move nature's pendulum after so many have felt the wrath of an intoxicated planet. One of these is certainly choosing to observe more forests rather than cutting them down.

If one thinks about it (and yes I do), does it not seem odd and wrong that there is any deforestation at this point? With renewables and other technologies, the cutting down of trees aside ones that might be diseased seems not in place with other time-warping changes that have in ways altered how we collectively behave.

When we better come to know that we as people are not unlike a tree, this world/galaxy/solar system can't help but become a better place.

Perception

The cool thing about being dead last in a race if that though you're last, you are not actually dead.

The Head and the Heart - Rivers and Roads

Shuffling

Einstein said taking cues from nature was important (duh), my hope is he's eternally right.

When we choose to mostly shuffle between home, automobile YAY!, and indoor facilities, this only brings challenges for you-know-who.

Real sickness?

Excuses might be fun, but they're also much more contagious than the flu. Consider that.

No reason

There's no reason that everyone should not be doing 10 push-ups per day. If you think I mean all at once, this points to a small error in thinking.

This is a part of a more reasonable health model, and it doesn't cost a thing.

The 10 might even become 20 and we can shock ourselves together :)

Rihanna - Bitch Better Have My Money (Explicit)

just because

Harnessing

It's not complicated.

Take a "trait" like poise for example. Poise is not an exclusive thing. We all possess the potential to display poise in numerous circumstances. If we don't think the people who come in and out of our lives - call them "teachers" throughout the lifetime - influence our cultivation of these traits, we only continue to kid ourselves.

Never a bad day to think about how you live. If we shame and blame over inaction, remember that the simple awareness if likely a step in front of many of our compadres.

Black Star - K.O.S. (Determination)

In that frame

We're not as much what we eat as we are the places we choose to spend the funds we have.

Therapeutic value

A good practice is to think of around 8 things we do within a period of a day. If 2 or 3 of these things don't at least have some therapeutic value (for self), might be time for a slight priority shift.

The economy of the future resembles something out of this mold. It's fun to envision and it looks quite dissimilar to what's currently in place.

David Gray - Babylon (Live)

Disconnecting

Saying phrases like "Rome wasn't built in one day" to express a sentimentality that things take time has limited value because we are not quite connected to such a time and place. Sure, the quote has a proper aim, but like many things - the end goal of such an expression often does not come through.

Examining a river (and any river) likely has more value for all. For example, and especially this year, the thing simply doesn't freeze at one single time. It takes a lengthy process of temperature change and gradual flow movement for a river in a colder climate to freeze over. It's confusion this year has me further wondering about some things, but the one I've been able to closely observe seems to be finding it's way.

Belief?

Not thinking we can change is probably one of our beginning/most significant fallacies.

Proof

More focus need be spent on those things that are clearly and universally good for the brain.
Music, and dancing, these are two of those things. Thing is, it doesn't matter what kind.
This is - and likely will always be - the future.

Bad Religion (Music Video's) [1998]. Raise Your Voice

:)

Won't hear it

We won't hear it discussed in any upcoming "debate," but an important question in my eyes will be whether compassion applies when it comes to terrorism.. Not saying yes or no, but I have been thinking that violence has little positive and even possibly an adverse effect.

Vision and potential

I recently saw it said - Vision is the art/ability to see that which is invisible to others. If quite a lot of our collective health and progress depends on "outlook," isn't this something we all are capable of?

And

If it's excruciatingly hard to breathe most air in 15-20 years, how important is much of a focus on these perceived and oft-publicized "differences??"

Think I heard a whisper of a "not very." Thanks.

Besides being a banger

This might be one of the more important things you'll see in some time.

Recently I read that the last couple of repub. debates had the most viewers in history. To think that I was going to cruise by Fox (probably in shorts/shades) month or so ago and campaign to have them not show that in Times Square. Know that they did. Turn your eyes folks, or maybe be captive?

Lupe Fiasco - Words I Never Said Ft Skylar Grey

Collective commitments

What if, instead of giving tangible (or possibly China-made) gifts this holiday, we gave each other 3 "commitments" or behaviors that we feel will improve the current condition/state of the planet. These can of course be individual desires of more far-reaching acts. Examples: I am going to drive my vehicle less this coming 6 months. I am going to eat more when I feel myself getting hungry rather than often out of a state of boredom. I am going to adopt a new skill that I've been looking to learn for quite some time. I will join a group or couple of others with some sort of similar belief pattern/system and see how this goes. These things all are expressions to another being, please note.

Since all things ultimately are related, what I'm saying is that IT DOESN'T MATTER. Change is so damn hard for some of us in some ways because we can't connect dots or have difficulty seeing and knowing this relatedness. The human condition is not dissimilar from a flower or cacti in that each are looking to grow to some degree. While writing that, I noticed that all statements began with "I am going" or "I will." Maybe notice that if nothing else in this smattering.

Ultimately, waiting until New Year's might be the (annual?) problem to begin with.

Go or no god

I'm going to begin starting more of my sentences this way, hopefully for reasons that are somewhat obvious.

Stupidity and confusion

In my opinion, the levels of stupidity and confusion on the planet are at an all-time high. As most things, it's been generating for some time.

I find myself laughing/feeling sad when reading the news more than anything.

Number of comments, but here's one: A smart phone isn't a smart phone if the way you're using it does makes you dumb.

On attention

Think about it - nothing's really stopping you.

A good practice is to periodically rate one's attention on a 1-10 scale. Maybe once in the morning, mid-day, etc. If we don't know what a 10 is, then getting some additional help/support is probably necessary. When we can collectively get in the 7-9 range, this is a sign of actual and important progress.

Many of us aren't aware or care too little to invest in even a starting point. A lot of unfortunate occurrences and ills stem from this fact. I feel I know of some magic, but I've yet to visually see a magic wand.

Beautify

Beautifying the countryside (by countryside I mean the entire country) is one of the more fun things there is to do.

General rule

A general rule for a healthier society (by this I mean world-society) is to focus more time on the things we all share and less time on the things we don't.

False gaps

If the only way we truly live on or "live forever" is through the minds and hearts of one another - Think about that.

The distance between knowledge/awareness and action.

Next time we read about income disparity, poverty, racism (which is a creation and not a real thing) - various forms of what I'm calling separationism, remember that the "Gap" above is the place to focus the majority of our attention.

New school?

Often times, we just need to get it out. Doesn't really matter much where.
If we're mostly thinking/feeling the same things, the oppression is ultimately our responsibility.
Solitude is great, but silence is predominately deadly.
So quit bitching. Turn off the tube. Even if your 88.

BIG K.R.I.T. - Boobie Miles

Sloppy science

What if I said something to you like this:

"Research shows that routinely sitting down and having a meal can decrease your risk of stroke or heart attack by somewhere near 50%"

This is in ways what "medicine" has become. People are actually spending time on this.
Will not surprise me to view a similar finding soon :)

Wheels and decisions

There some things with wheels that pollute. There are some things with wheels that don't pollute. Even our most conservative minds would have an impossible time disputing this (I think).

We're surely limited to an extent based on prior choices, but mostly, we get to decide how to get around in what has unfortunately & unnecessarily become the gas-guzzling age. We don't really need all of this mindfulness stuff if we lessen the daily mindlessness in which so many of us choose to participate.

Kennedy said something about it, but even more simply - stop being a victim and just attempt to take back a little of a life that's yours.  Careful, this might even require asking for help.

Eleanor Rigby - The Beatles

Clouds

There are good clouds and there are not so good - or "contaminated" clouds, pretty much. They aren't necessarily bad or not capable of being better clouds. But they all need a little help from a source/sources in a giant pool of an ecosystem. I prefer to see people that way too. And I almost completely feel I'm right. Other words, take a look at the freaking sky once in a while.
If as human beings, we can't do some good for these neighbors in the sky, there won't be many favors coming our way either. We are not dissimilar.

Dancing

Say it again - but it's great exercise

It can seem surprising that an experience that lasts just a micro-moment can have any lasting effect on your health and longevity. Yet I learned that there's an important feedback loop at work here, an upward spiral between your social and your physical well-being.

Defensiveness

Don't allow it to be too close of a personal friend.

...Keep bats warm

http://www.defenders.org/bats/bats
Bats are the only mammals capable of true flight. With extremely elongated fingers and a wing membrane stretched between, the bat’s wing anatomically resembles the human hand. Almost 1,000 bat species can be found worldwide. In fact, bats make up a quarter of all mammal species on earth!

And bats are susceptible to disease. White-Nose Syndrome (WNS), a fungal disease of hibernating bats that was first discovered in 2006, has had a major impact. The fungus that grows on their noses and other exposed flesh on their bodies is fatal, and can wipe out up to 99 percent of bats in single colony.
